Hi, I’m Kurt Phillips, Owner of Guitars Plus!
I first picked up a guitar in the late 1970’s when I was a teenager and I’ve loved guitars ever since. I have spent my whole life involved in the music industry in one way or another including as a:

- Acoustic finger stylist

- Live sound engineer
- Small analog home studio
- Professional roadie, stage crew, guitar tech
- Long-time independent guitar store owner
I have played in numerous bands as a main member, side-man, session guitarist and bass player in many genres, including original bands, roots/Canadiana, power metal, new and traditional country, acoustic instrumental, hard rock cover bands, power pop and more. I have mixed, engineered and self-recorded myself in bands and as a solo artist as well as co-produced and engineered many of my own musical projects. I have written many songs in diverse genres and had other artists cover some of my material.
All of these experiences has given me insight on guitars, amps, pedals, cables, set-ups, repairs and more that I can draw on to help you find the gear you want and need for where you are right now as a player - and where you want to go. So, whether you are a first time player or a professional, I can help you get the gear you want with our friendly and helpful knowledge.

We also take trade-ins and consignments, we do special orders and appraisals, plus offer prompt and professional in-store repairs. Trade-ins and consignments give us the ability to selectively stock instruments and brand names that we don’t have access to as new products, giving you the best opportunity to get your dream rig.
